Three questions cover most of the arithmetic an Indian student needs during a semester: what my CGPA is as a percentage, how many classes I can still skip before the 75 percent rule bites, and what I need in the final to pass or to keep a placement cut-off.

The CGPA conversion is the one that goes wrong most, because there is no single conversion. CBSE multiplies by 9.5, many autonomous colleges multiply by 10, VTU subtracts 0.75 first. The same 8.6 CGPA becomes 81.7, 86 or 78.5 percent depending on whose rule applies, and that is easily the gap between clearing a 75 percent eligibility bar and not. The calculator makes the rule a choice you can see.

The attendance calculator answers both directions: classes you can still miss, and consecutive classes you must attend to climb back. The second number grows faster than people expect, which is why checking in September beats checking in November.
